Simple arrangements of well known carols and songs in simple formats for young learners in the very early stages at the piano and not yet working much with two hands together. So many Christmas books just aren’t suitable for this level. These arrangements are tried and tested over the years in my own lessons. No fancy formatting, just plain and simple notation or note names. I hope learners, parents and teachers will find them useful.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas (note names written out above lyrics)

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (note names written out above lyrics)

Jingle Bells (Note names and rhythm values with lyrics)

Jingle Bells (Treble clef only notation)

Good King Wenceslas (Melody shared between left and right hand written on treble and bass clefs in a ‘middle C position’)

We Three Kings (Melody shared between left and right hand written on treble and bass clefs in a ‘middle C position’)

We Wish You a Merry Christmas (Melody shared between left and right hand written on treble and bass clefs in a ‘middle C position’) (Plus a second version using quavers and including the refrain)

Away in a Manger (Melody shared between left and right hand written on treble and bass clefs, almost in middle C position but extends the right hand to A above middle C)

Deck the Halls (Melody shared between left and right hand written on treble and bass clefs in a ‘middle C position.’ Includes F#s as written in G major)

Silent Night (Melody shared between left and right hand written on treble and bass clefs. Written in D major so uses F#s and D#s. Left hand must move slightly so finger numbers have been omitted to allow teacher, parent or learner to find the best solution.

Jingle Bells (3 versions for the first ventures into hands together playing)
