Free Christmas Resources

Just in time for Christmas I’ve added a few free resources for various beginners. Use them at home for yourself or you young learners. Teachers should feel free to use these in lessons and give copies to pupils.
When it comes to learning the piano, learners both old and new often have the goal of learning tunes they know and love and Christmas tunes are some of the best. I find that particularly with young piano learners the goal of performing a Christmas tune for their families can motivate even the most reluctant to practice. Simple arrangements of Christmas tunes can be hard to find though and as we tend to only play them for a small portion of the year of course you might not want an entire book full of them as a learner. So take advantage of one or more of these free arrangements.
There are two versions of Jingle Bells to be found on our page for the youngest beginners here. Who doesn’t love this one, and it’s the very easiest Christmas tune to play on the piano with just 5 notes.
Two versions of the classic Away in a Manger are on our page of resources aimed at age 7+ here. One shares the melody between hands and one for those that are starting to play with hands together.
And on our page of ‘Initial to Grade 1’ resources here is a further, more difficult version of Away in a Manger and one of the beautiful See Amid the Winter’s Snow.
Happy playing and a Merry Christmas!
